Our home county, and two completely different markets wearing one name. The coast from Greenwich through Bridgeport is dense, expensive, and full of businesses already paying an agency. Inland, from Danbury up through Sherman, is where independent operators still run on a Facebook page and a phone number, and where a proper site is still a genuine advantage rather than table stakes.

The largest county in the state by land and the emptiest by people, which changes the whole shape of the problem. A business in Torrington is competing for a small local population, so it cannot afford to lose a single search. A business in Washington or Kent is often selling to weekenders and second-home owners from New York, which means the site is doing the work a storefront cannot.

Waterbury and New Haven are the two poles and they behave nothing alike. Waterbury is a working city with a deep trades and service base and comparatively little serious competition for local search. New Haven has a university economy, a genuinely good restaurant scene, and businesses that are used to being marketed to properly.

The capital region, and the most professionalised market we work in. Insurance and healthcare set the tone, which means businesses here are more used to buying marketing and more sceptical of it. That cuts both ways: the pitch has to be sharper, but a business that has already been burned by a national agency is unusually receptive to somebody who will sit at their table.

Across the line and a different animal. Westchester businesses are competing inside New York City's search gravity, which means both the competition and the expectations are higher. Northern Westchester, Bedford through Katonah and Somers, is the part that behaves most like our home turf and is a natural extension of the Ridgefield and Redding corridor.

Small, close, and easy to reach from the Danbury corridor. Brewster is roughly twenty minutes from our home base, which makes Putnam one of the few New York counties where an in-person meeting costs no more than a local one. That matters, because sitting across a table is most of what wins these jobs.

Directly west of the Litchfield hills, over the state line. If you drive west from Goshen through Cornwall and Sharon you hit Dutchess, and the towns on the other side, Amenia and Millerton, are closer to Sharon than Danbury is. The eastern edge of this county and the northwest corner of Connecticut are functionally one market that happens to have a border through it.

The northern edge of what we cover. Springfield is a real drive from Danbury, so we are straight about what that means: remote work and video calls are the norm here, and an in-person sit-down is something we plan rather than something we do on a Tuesday.
